Mobile Flutter Gas Blending Diving Operations

Overview

We built this mobile application to support day-to-day gas blending and fill verification in real diving operations.

Challenge

The workflow combines safety-critical gas calculations, tank history checks, and fast preparation under time pressure. Mobile usage also had to work when connectivity was limited.

Approach

We designed the app around a practical fill flow: define current tank state, set target mix, review recipe, and log the completed fill. We added QR-based tank checks, offline-friendly behavior, and quick access screens for repeated tasks.

Architecture

The app uses structured local state for current sessions, synchronized tank records, and shareable fill instructions. It also supports sending fill recipes to Apple Watch for use in compressor-room workflows.

Outcome

The mobile app became the operational front end for blending and verification tasks, reducing manual handoffs and making fill data easier to review on-site.

Lessons

For technical diving software, mobile UX must prioritize clarity and speed under operational pressure, not feature count.
